I really wouldn’t know were to start trying to explain this site. Probably it is not what you’re expecting. It’s not all about traveling, special nice places and beautiful pictures. I also like to take you on a another tour, with different and everyday things I encounter that make me wonder. Feel free to response in the comments and please correct me if I make to many language errors. Enjoy and thanks for passing by.
So after a week with our kids and a couple of days with some weird friends from Vlieland we are back in Ă lesund.
As you can guess we now need a couple of days to reload mentally and power up to go around Stad again. Which is a famous passage known for itâs crossing waves as we experienced on our way up. To avoid this passage with bad weather theyâre planning to build an amazing tunnel for ships. You can find here more info about that.
Meanwhile we are very, very busy watching the Worldcup soccer games, Formula One and the Tour de France. And of course a little maintenance has to be done before we leave somewhere the next days.
Have a look at this beauty. Do you know the very funny Dutch joke about asking someone the temperature of the water? No? Donât bother because itâs not that funny and certainly not if translated to English.
We left Trondheim early in the morning, heading back to Kristiansund, hopefully with no big winds and current against and as little rain as possible. Well, that didn’t go quite as planned. Ok, we had no wind, really nothing at all, but instead of that we had rain. Lots of rain. And the best thing is we had like 15 hours against the current, varying between 0.2-1.1 knots. That’s amazing because there is a tidal difference of about 1.2 meters. Where does that water go to? Does it all evaporates causing low tide and than the rain is filling up the fjords again? Or is the moon effect only working if there are no clouds? I have to figure that out, but even on Barentswatch.no i can’t find the logic.
Was it all bad then? No, absolutely not. The bimini kept us pretty much dry, Dickie added warmth from below, Perki was running smooth as always, we had coffee, food and a radar. And now and then we even saw the beautiful coast and little islands. Stunning.
This was our view for about 15 hours and just before it started drizzling and more đ
I know itâs hard to believe but we did some real sailing yesterday. Even though we had moments when the speed went down to three knots we didnât asked for Perkies help. We even ignored the cold gusts and some raindrops.
So after Nothaugen, Hellandsjøen, KyrksÌterøra and Kongensvoll, we skipped Hasselvika and went straight through to Børsa. Tomorrow we sail the last couple of miles to Trondheim. The most northern place we will visit this trip.
But now itâs time for laundry, cleaning and maintenance. And before I forget, enjoying the beautiful weather today.
What a beautiful city name it is, KyrksĂŚterøra. Just because of this name we had to go here. And weâre staying for the night because we finally got a real, big Norwegian suprise too. The one we where looking for since weeks. Cold, foggy and drizzly weather, beautiful. May be we might even stay for another day.
