I do my best to categorize all the different posts. In fact it is quite simple as long as I avoid the human error factor.
Here you will find the posts I uploaded while we were sailing with our 1wheelfloatinglady, a ’77 Nautor 43 Swan, one of the 21 motorsailing vessels Nautor Swan build.
We changed that just a bit. Since november 2024 we are living on a motorboat. A Vripack Searocco 1500.

And it is Ronnie's fault, as usual. We had to celebrate Ron's last evening in the marina before we (Leonie & me) raise anchor at the end of the week. And i told him several times, easy on this stuff, it isn't lemonade. But he never listens. Never ...
Actually the old fridge was still ok but I just didn’t trusted it anymore. And we hated piling up the food, because you always need stuff from underneath. A nice extra is the little freeze compartment and probably this Dometic CRX80 (see picture) is quite a bit more energy efficient. We’ll see. Today i’m going to fasten the unit and fix the DC 12v connection. I’ll let you know what still went wrong last minute.
Update: So you buy a fridge and a special frame to make it look nice. Then you find out that a few of the pre-drilled holes do not match with each other and you can’t really fix that easily. It’s in now but just a bit crooked at the bottom. Man I’m pissed.
We said goodbye to our 16 year old liferaft and bought a brand new one. Big enough for four persons, so it should be fine for me and Leonie. Not big enough for the clamp but i made some adjustments and now it still doesn’t fit the way I would like to. Classic craftmanship ;). I’m going to think about it tonight and see what comes tomorrow.
No I’m not playing hide and seek alone on board. Although it is a perfect spot. It’s our storage locker on port side. Normally you’ll see fenders, ropes and stuff like that in it, but not in Tuuli’s. I like to keep it dry, clean and organized.
We’ve got here the hydraulic pump with the operation system, adjusted with double relay’s per button, powered by two lithium batteries connected in 24v. The hydraulic system is for handling the sails as well as two of the winches. The ventilating-system from the engine room is going through here, as well as the second waterlock for the exhaust. Then we have one of the two manually operated bilge pumps here and outgoing hoses for both the electrical pumps. There’s an inlet hose for the big (750 liter) fuel tank underneath which we don’t use anymore. The 350 liter tank on the starboard side is enough for us to travel at least 300 nautical miles under engine. Finally there’s enough space left for our little foldable bikes.
Have a look at our new kettle. Except for the handle it is hot as hell. And that’s the main reason we bought this sexy baby. Our old kettle was way to hot to handle the handle. Uhm, what? Forget it, we have something hot on board. That’s all that matters.
It’s not ‘stormy’ Mrs.Turner was singing about, was it? We had a wee bit of a breeze, hitting the 45 knots in gales last night. Sideways that’s always a unpleasant ride. Even in the marina. So you can probably guess how it was outside the harbour. The only advantage of this shitty weather is that you can do lot’s of useful things inside.
Is it strange to have a vase with beautiful tulips on your table on board? Probably that’s a yes if you’re on the move. But we are still busy getting our beloved lady ready for the upcoming season and I think it’s ok if you are docked.
It’s way to much to mention everything we did and replaced the last week. So besides a million little jobs we also had our Webasto-heater renewed. The old one was in overtime in the amount of burning hours and we didn’t want to take any risk this season. We brought our life raft to a station for an inspection and hopefully a new certificate. At the same time we bought a new set offshore emergency fireworks as ours were outdated last year. I tested the Easymob- ais/dsc beacons we have in our jackets and decided to buy an Oceansignal Epirb also. Just to be as safe as possible in case of an emergency.
