KNOTTING ON THE HAND
I’m know, the titles are getting worse. But who cares, nobody is reading it anyway. In between all the serious things I’m slowly getting better in this ‘old-fashioned’ craftsmanship. Do you the name of this knot?

I do my best to categorize all the different posts. In fact it is quite simple as long as I avoid the human error factor.
Here you will find the posts I uploaded while we were sailing with our 1wheelfloatinglady, a ’77 Nautor 43 Swan, one of the 21 motorsailing vessels Nautor Swan build.
We changed that just a bit. Since november 2024 we are living on a motorboat. A Vripack Searocco 1500.

Still lots of work to do before we set course to Denmark or may be Norway or Sweden, but we’re getting there … some day. Last year we had the little fueltank cleaned (we’re not using the big one anymore), changed all the filters twice, flushed the engine with some special stuff to make things run even better. Changed the oil again after that. We changed the complete network of diesel hoses in the engine room, completed them with extra taps to be sure we can shut it all seperately off, including the Webasto and Dickinson heater. The two extra vent/bleed valves are great to get air out of the system if necessary. The engine strings are still ok. We’ve got everything in reserve. Tomorrow i’m going to replace the Separfilters again to be sure everything is still clean. The tank is full. Our Perkins (1977 – 4cil – 75HP) is running perfect and smoother than ever before. With only 7800 working hours the engine will probably keep running for at least another 47 years. Look at this beauty 🙂
Yesterday my marina-neighbour John and I went to a refresher course for using radar in foggy conditions. And how to behave correctly by the rules under these circumstances. It was certainly worth it but the best thing of the day was the coffee they served. Beukenhorst coffee, tastes the best if you pronounce it with the right accent 😉
Pancakes are very important if you’re working hard on your boat. It’s also very, very important if you’re not working on a boat. I’m sure there’s no need to explain that to you, is there?
Finally back on our Onewheelfloatinglady ‘Tuuli’. Lots of things to do but so good to be back on the water!
The last one, that’s the box for our 1wheelfloatinglady this summer season. The only thing I have to do now is find a crew and sail her to Danmark. The long way through the Limfjord would be nice plan 😉
There’s nothing to do here at the moment. We’re probably into other stuff. Please give it a try at one of the other categories.
