abadia de montserrat

We visited Antoni Gaudi’s masterpiece, the Sagrada Família in Barcelona. It’s huge and maybe somehow overwhelming, which makes it too much for a quick visit. It is impressive and it would probably take more than months to understand it. Even if you leave the religious part aside, it is quite stunning. My preference goes definitely to the inside, but you have to see it for yourself. As a critic once said “it is the most extraordinary personal interpretation of Gothic architecture since the Middle Ages”. I can’t describe it, i’m still stuck between the Metropole Parasol and Cirque du Soleil.
Monument to the civil war fighters interned in the Barcarès camp. That’s the short version. We didn’t even noticed it when we passed it at daylight. But it surely made an impression at the evening.
